Using AP Media Agent?
Download NewsML-G2 XML Item Metadata Files
If you are using Agent 10.x, you can receive item metadata as XML in the NewsML-G2 format by selecting the XML: Item Files (NewsML-G2) option on the Media API configuration dashboard.
If you have selected to download NewsML-G2 XML item files, you can also select the XML: Embed NITF Text option to embed the following NITF-formatted renditions in the <inlineXML> elements in the NewsML-G2 item files: story body (for text), captions (for pictures, graphics and video) and scripts and/or shotlists (for video). The <inlineXML> elements are embedded in addition to the <remoteContent> elements that contain links to these renditions.

Receive Item Metadata in the NewsML-G2 Format
If you are accessing
content programmatically via AP Media API,
you can receive item metadata as XML in the NewsML-G2
format by specifying the format=newsmlg2 parameter
in the Item Metadata request or by adding the format=newsmlg2
parameter to the item metadata links in the Search and Feed responses
(along with the apikey parameter
if you are not using the x-apikey request header).
Example:
