Vote Type Totals at the State Level

Previously, vote type totals at the state level were not available in the Elections API responses because the availability of vote type results varies by location in many states. ELAPI now returns vote type totals in the state-level reporting unit using roll-up of vote type results from the reporting unit level (Level 2) to the state level (Level 1). Since not all reporting units in a state deliver vote type updates, the totaling of the vote type values may not equal the cumulative total.

Response

In this example, vote type totals are returned in the state-level reporting unit (ReportingUnitLevel="1" Name="New Jersey") although vote type results may not be available in some RUs like Atlantic and are available in others like Cape May and Essex.

EEVP for All Vote Types

Elections API now returns EEVP (Estimated Expected Vote Percentage) for all vote types available in a given election. The vote type EEVP values are available at the race level.

 

Note
Vote type EEVP values are NOT available for certified results (when the tabulation status is "Vote Certified").
